Construction on Central Concrete's first entirely new plant in many years is now underway! On May 22, 2008, Teamsters, Operating Engineers, and managers joined forces to break ground at the site in Martinez after a one-year period of design and permit procurement.

As of July 16, most of the reinforcing steel had been placed for the structural foundations. By the last week of July, other trades will be on site to commence plant erection and wiring.

We are optimistically looking forward to an early fall opening of this wet-batch plant, which has a design throughput of over 250 cubic yards of concrete per hour and will inventory 1,000 tons of aggregates and over 1,200 barrels of cementitious materials. The plant has been designed to maximize Safety, Quality, and Service - with a special emphasis on Environmental Stewardship and Load-and-Go technology.
